People Systems Context

A building is only as good as its relationship with life.

Our work began in London in 2017 and has continued in Ankara since 2022. We approach architectural design by considering how spaces are used, the technical requirements of buildings and their relationship with the surrounding context. From initial research to construction detailing, we carry this integrated approach throughout the design process, developing distinctive and buildable architectural solutions.

Yiğit Işık

Yiğit Işık graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University with a degree in Architecture in 2014, having previously completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme at TED Ankara College. In 2017, he completed his MArch at the Architectural Association School of Architecture’s Design Research Lab in London. His research explored self-organising spatial systems that evolve through interactions with users and their environment, using computational design and robotics. \n

He began his professional career at BINAA in Istanbul in 2014, contributing to architectural design projects led by Burak Pekoğlu and Durmuş Dilekci.

In 2017, he established Isik Architecture Limited in London. During his time in the UK, he provided architectural design services as a contract architect to internationally recognised practices, including Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), Grimshaw and Heatherwick Studio. His work during this period included major projects such as Google Landings, HS2 Euston, Heathrow Expansion Masterplan and Nine Elms Square.

Following his return to Ankara, he founded Yiğit Işık Mimarlık in 2022. Today, he undertakes architectural design and project documentation for residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Drawing on his international professional experience and research background, he aims to contribute to a higher-quality built environment.
